By AREX train

Find the AREX station
From arrivals, follow the train signs to the Transportation Center. Buy a T-money card at a convenience store or a single-use card at the machines.

Board the all-stop train
Take any all-stop train toward Seoul Station; they run about every 10 minutes. Skip the Express: it doesn't stop at Hongdae.

Get off at Hongik Univ.
About 52 minutes from Terminal 1 (58 from Terminal 2). Fare ₩4,650 from T1 or ₩5,250 from T2 with a transit card. Hongik Univ. is also on Line 2 and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line.

Pick the right exit
Hongik Univ. Station has many exits spread over a wide area, so check the one for your hotel or guesthouse before you arrive.
AREX allows up to two large items per person, and you'll carry them through the gates and up to the street yourself.
By limousine bus
- 6002 (₩17,000): Hongdae, then Sinchon, Gwanghwamun, Jongno, Dongdaemun and Cheongnyangni.
- Boarding: Terminal 1, outside exits 3–7 on 1F; Terminal 2, the B1 Transportation Center. Buy your ticket at the booth or machine first.
- Luggage: each ticket covers two suitcases up to 28 inches; extra bags are ₩8,000 each.
After midnight the N6002 night bus covers the same corridor, reaching Hongdae about 45 minutes after it leaves Terminal 1:

By taxi
- Seoul city doesn't publish a Hongdae estimate; its figure for the Swiss Grand Hotel in nearby Hongeun-dong is about ₩41,000–₩45,000 on the meter and 60–70 minutes, plus tolls.
- Seoul taxis add 20% from 10pm to 11pm, 40% from 11pm to 2am and 20% from 2am to 4am.
- Use the official stands outside arrivals on 1F.
Private van to Hongdae
Worth it when you're three or more, have big suitcases or land late. The van is just for your group, the price is per vehicle and fixed before you fly, and tolls, the name-sign greeting and free waiting for delays are included.

Online booking closes 24 hours before pickup. Add your flight number so your driver can track your landing time.

The day before, your booking page and email show your driver's name, phone number and car number.

Land and clear arrivals
Go through immigration, baggage claim and customs. Korean Air, Asiana, Delta and a few partners use Terminal 2; most other airlines use Terminal 1 (airlines by terminal).

Look for your name sign
Walk out into the public arrivals hall on 1F. Your driver is waiting there with your name on a sign. If your flight is late, they keep waiting at no extra cost.

Message the driver team from your booking page (we translate for the driver) or call the number you were sent. Don't go with anyone who walks up offering a ride: Incheon Airport itself warns about unlicensed call vans posing as taxis.
